چکیده

The introduction of partially twisted boundary conditions allows weak and electromagnetic form factors to be evaluated at specified values of the hadronic momenta (and hence momentum transfers) in lattice simulations. We present and demonstrate this technique for the computation of the K → π semileptonic form factor at zero momentum transfer and for the electromagnetic form factor of the pion at arbitrarily small momentum transfers. These exploratory computations are carried out in full QCD with 3 flavours of sea quarks, but with only two values of mu = md which limits our ability to perform the chiral extrapolations. The results should therefore be viewed primarily as a demonstration of the feasibility of the method. For the K → π form factor we compare the new technique to the conventional approach and for the pion form factor we assess our results for very small momentum transfer with the help of chiral perturbation theory.

Lattice study of semileptonic form factors with twisted boundary conditions

We apply twisted boundary conditions to lattice QCD simulations of three-point correlation functions in order to access spatial components of hadronic momenta different from the integer multiples of 2π/L. We calculate the vector and scalar form factors relevant to the K → π semileptonic decay and consider all the possible ways of twisting one of the quark lines in the three-point functions. We ...

Search for QCD-instanton-induced effects in deep inelastic electron proton scattering at HERA

QCD, in contrast to QED, is not exhausted by perturbation theory. While QCD perturbation theory appears to be very successful at higher momentum transfers where the strong coupling constant becomes small, some of the most fundamental properties of hadronic physics like color confinement and hadronization of quarks and gluons, characteristic for the low momentum transfer region, are not accessib...

Hadronic Form Factors and Perturbative Qcd

The electromagnetic form factors of hadrons at large momentum transfer have been the subject of intense theoretical and experimental scrutiny over the past two decades, yet there is still not a universally-accepted framework for their description. This review is a synopsis of their current status at large momentum transfer. The basic theoretical approaches to form factors at large momentum tran...
